Hi guys, what are you up to?
I am working. Nothing interesting.
The only thing worth mentioning is that the other day I went to the supermarket and I found total caos there. If I were religious, I would have thought that was “the end of times” “armageddon” “the rapture” “the great tribulation” “the second coming of Christ”…
What happened is that in that store they gave customers these sheets of sticker with 25% off printed on it.
You had the option of attacking up to 6 of these stickers on 6 products of your choice.
That was a mistake! Old ladies went crazy! You could see in their eyes the
madness of gamblers. They went on a attack stickers spree.
The result of all that was more waiting time at the checkout line.
I expressed my sympathy to the cashier…poor woman..she told me..”Luckily it only is for three days”
It was funny though….to see these old ladies in that state of mind.
Anyway…just a little adventure of mine…
Have a nice weekend everyone.
As I guessed, ESL Podcast 1204– Controlling Information to the Media is awesome. I love it. Thanks Jeff and Lucy. I am waiting fot tne next one.

Come and check for yourself.
Just a wedding anniversary (april 30th 1970)
HUMOR EVERY DAY
Immense love hidden in the routine
of two singular lives.
Yours and mine joined by “I do”
granted 46 years before.
United forever until death
do us part .
Words that say might undermine
great enigma.
Absolute ignorance of how will be for
I or she.
Sharing surprise one after another
living this quiet love.
Humor everyday to joyful situations
or adverse days.
After many years we repeat if I want
repeat that “I do” on a day like today.
Yes, we did together for ever and ever
till die separate our love.
Words two young inexperienced young
said giving life and heart.
Faceing with an unknown and uncertain future
that has changed everything.
Here we are together again too many years after
willing to continue loving each other.
Without regard for what has been or will
be our future tomorrow.
Once again we say “Yes I do” for ever and ever
my dear love.
for Cuca

Pete
Hey, Peter, don’t make me jealous.
Aecio, from the land of milk and honwy.
Yes Peter, first line in in the first blog was fror someone named emiliano, me by all means, every body could
see it searching the history of the blog.
By that time Jeff was a friend of mine, a very good friend as he is now, so I was informed what was he going
to do about creating a blog.
My task them was participate in it even without knowing what I was going to write, it seems really difficult
what to say.
Along years I was writing always, doing ideas and creating some polemic with that opinions. Was really a
nice good time for me and for other.
Emiliano was like the senior, you called me that way frequently, but now all my attention goes to my wife
Cuca who is really very bad.
Some time I am with my head other place just resting or writing in Spanish what is more easy and relaxing.
Today, after more than 20 days being at home, I have been outside walking round Madrid. I have been
walking more than seven hours but another person was taking care of Cuca.
I have been talking in English with some girls from Miami, they told me my English was really good and
I was pleased listening to that.
After watching my city by some places that have changed a lot I have return home with good humor to
read once again the blog and doing some writing in it.
I am in touch with ESL till a point you can´t imagine and my dear master Jeff is one of my best friends
who has given me wise advises and nice letter along more than seven or eight years.
That´s all dear Peter, my life now is too much complicated and my mind frequently is empty of ideas
to fulfil the blog as I did before.
The best for you and all the other friends. emiliano
Walking by Madrid is always a pleasure and if you like to talk or it is easy some way as it is for me, it could be very easy
to find tourist who are in the city and need some help in their own language. English usually, so sometime when I go
near Prado Museum or Plaza Mayor, hundred of tourist are visiting these places.
English is the language you listen to and frequently I could talk a while with them as I did yesterday. In fact I found two
groups of young girls from USA, Miami, who were studing Spanish in Madrid´s University.
One of the girls was really nice and she could speaks Spanish easily too. What did I say to her?. That could be a good
question.
First I told her and her friend that the real name of the language is Castellano, just the same language Miguel de
Cervantes wrote Don Quijote de la Mancha.
What is the difference? Asked me the girl, and I took a while to explain hi question to her.
Yes, we have a good time talking, some time in English and other time translating to her my talk if they have some
doubts.
The group of girls, also from Miami, that I met before these two girls were six or seven and they were talking aloud
just in the same way we Spaniards use to do. At the end I was talking with them too.
Madrid received 11 millions of tourist last year so you could imagine what is this for a person with enough decision
as to practice his/her English.
Cuca use to say about me that I talk even under the water, and by all means that´s true.
Alfter all this I have a long talk with a monk who was out of his Benedictine Order and stay in a Church that was opened.
I want to confess and asked him if I could. Yes, he told me, and we seat in a Church´s bench and started to talk.
Talking with him about my life at the end he told me also his own life and why he was out of the Benedictine Order.
Now he is in Mensajeros de la Paz Order and he is really happy.
He was in one of the most important Benedictine´s monasteries of Spain, or even of the world, Santo Domingo de Silos
were the Monks sing the Gregorian Chants known in half the world, but was really interesting was that he was the
Prior Monk over there having only the Abad in higher site than him.
After an hour or more he gave me the absolution to my sins and I attended Mass and Communion that was my intention
when I entered to the Church. Now my soul is in peace.
Interesting and nice talk with these person that seems we know each other by years what is really incredible.
Well, this is a short emiliano´s story about his long walk round his city.
May be being so long time at home when I go out I have always the necessity of talking and for me it is really easy, not
a bit shy to do that.

About English Cafe 553, all I have to say is that I won’t scare Jeff off. Just kidding.

Pete
No, Peter, I am not from Heaven, although I would like to. Why do you ask me that? Just because I wrote that Brazil is a land of milk and honey? It is not true and you knoew that. I like to say nonsense things to my friends just o make the conversation more interesting and just for fun. Do you like it? Do the same. Imagine things in your mind and let them come out. Being your friend is very nice. If you need, just tell me.

Dear Lucy
Happy Birthday to you!
I mixed up the dates and I thought it’s 4th May tomorrow. Lucky I haven’t missed your birthday.
Thank God I still own the faculty of remembering Lucy’s birthday!
~~~~~~~~~~~~
You said “I took a couple of days off to get to know my new age. It’s not bad, but I prefer 25!” last year.
Are you doing the same this year? Why do you prefer 25?
I think “25” is a way of saying, hinting that you’re older than 25, and you prefer to be younger than your age.
I’m sure Lucy you have energy higher than a 25, a mind younger than a 25, and a face prettier than a 25.
Many Happy Returns Lucy!
About ESL Podcast 1205 – Bragging About Success With Women I think Lucy could set me up with one of her friends. I assure I can make her friend very happy. Alright, I am just kidding. I would never ask Lucy to do that. Plus, I am 75 and I guess no womwn would like to take a risk on me. It’s so embarassing. Sorry about that.
