  1. Dan says:

    Hello guys.

Saturday we had a sizable snowfall 3/4 inches.
Because of that I couldn’t feed the crows, but this morning that it’s sunny and warm I did it and geez! they were hungry.
Yesterday during the snowfall that lasted all day, I went outside and the only audible sound was the cracks of tree’s branches coming down.

This morning, Sunday 6, the cats and I went outside to evaluate the situation. The cats stayed on the building’ perimeter because of the snow.
They do not like it very much to walk on the snow.
I could not do much so I sat down enjoying the warmth of the sun and observing the cats.

    Bye. Thanks.

  2. Dan says:

    Hey Pete..

Have you seen the “new” Gostbuster trailer?
On YouTube the official trailer has so many dislikes..hahaha.
I disliked it too. That’s garbage.
Basically they done it again but with a cast of women.

    Thanks

  3. Dan says:

    Hey Aecio.

    I want to visit Brazil.
I would like to see with my eyes whether it’s true there is no sin there.
Can I stay to your place?

  4. Dan says:

    Hey there China!

Hey Chinese people reading this, I am a guy writing from Italy and I am so satisfied and happy with all the Chinese people that moved here that I wish more will come.
    They are good people.

  5. Dan says:

    SORRY me again

Do you guys think I have any chance of getting a Chinese woman?
They are cute and small. I like women smaller/thinner than myself.
I do no like when a woman is too huge or bigger than my size. They look scary.
I have heard on a video by a Chinese living in France that Chinese people do not date out of their, I don’t want to use the word race, let’s say group.
    Is that true?

Anyway..it’s not important..life as a single is great.
But, you know, we are never fully satisfied/happy

  6. Pete says:

    Hey
    A new week,
Well ,we moved on, Eslpod moved on but U.S. Never moved on. People across the world never moved on.
Still a significant number of people throughout the world glue to the Tv every time the most popular actor , tv personality, show host, comedian comes on the world stage to scare people , entertain people , and leave them in disbelief that how a once fringe presidential candidate , the U.S.A prodigal son , is hugging the spot light and turning a boring game of politics into the highest viewed tv show of all time, even way higher than the most popular tv show of recent memory : ” the game of thrones. ”

Mr trump as brute as he is pulled stunts that most of his predecessors failed to do. he drew the mainstream to the polls, he increased the media coverage of the race not just in U.S. But all over the world, he changed U.S. Political culture : boost jumped it to a new era. He is crude , he is brute , he has no sense of politic ,
Still he aginst all odds continues befuddling prognosticators by his strong lead in the polls.

Say all u want , but you gotta admit :
He is something. I give him that

  8. Pete says:

    Hey Dan
I just say I have never been a fan of Gohst buster movie series.

    I never watched then
The test if watch was this fictional movies about The Reign of Gods and Goddesses in an imaginary ancient Roam.
The movie has no substance but entertaining.
What I m very eager to watch is a thriller movie that released last Friday. It is a terrorist attack done in Londone at a very big scale.

I m planning on taking it in this coming Tusday in 3D

  9. Aecio Flavio Perim says:

Of course you can, Dan. It’s a pleasure to have you in my place. But I don’t live in a big town. On the contrary, I live in a small town, surrounded by trees, good neighborhood, quiet. Perhaps that’s why I live here for long and I don’t intend to move out. Just say when you are coming and we set the details about your arrival. I am sure we will have a lot of fun.
    Aecio

  10. Dan says:

    Dear Aecio

Thank you for your generosity but I wasn’t serious.
I just wanted to test you.
I cannot leave my cats and crows. They are going to miss me.
    Thank you again.

  11. Tania says:

    Hi,

Thank you for all the news from your countries, Dan and Peter.
    I like all your news.

I saw on TV the fresh spring snow from Italy. And I was thinking about you, Dan.

  12. Tania says:

    Hi,

Harvey Washington Wiley, English Cafe 541 and ESL Podcast 1179, Reading Food Labels…
Many, many warnings on TV, read the food label before buying! What is in the food you buy?
Reading food labels, you want to buy nothing.
I have had no idea about Harvey Washington Wiley’s works.
I am fascinated of his work 1907 “Food and Their Adulteration”.
Nicknamed the “Father of the Pure Food and Drugs Act” in 1906, when it became law.
He was a founding father of the pure food movement, made the study of food and drug adulteration and misbranding.
An inspection program was launched which revolutionized the country’s food supply, developing
    standards for truth in labelling.
Reading about Harvey Washington Wiley I memorized the specific terms like
preservatives, additive, adulteration, misbranding… and of course serving size, percent daily value and all , all
    useful terms.

    Thank you.

  13. Tania says:

    Hi,
We use the same words like “aditiv, standard, brand”.
Interesting to me this year 1906…
In safety food we use 1963 Codex Alimentarius.
We use many standards for food hygiene, principles for the establishment and application of
microbiological for food, hazard analysis and critical point, food safety management system…

  14. Tania says:

    Hi,
    Interesting to me…
According to Wikipedia, food additives are substances added to food to preserve flavor or enhance its taste
    and appearance.
Each additive is assigned a unique number, termed as “E numbers”, which is used in Europe for all
    approved additives.
For example, acetic acid is written as E260 on product sold in Europe, but is known
as additive 260 in countries outside Europe.

We should buy a food reading food label and counting how many E numbers contains.
Too, too many E numbers, reason for that many people have digestive problems.

  15. Tania says:

    Hi,
The Bureau of Chemistry founded by Harvey Washington Wiley used the healing symbol of Aesculapius’ staff.
In Greek mythology, the Rod of Asclepius (or Aesculapius) is a serpent (snake) – entwined rod wielded (used)
by the Greek god Asclepius, associated with healing and medicine.

In my country, all pharmacies have the Rod (or a cup) of Aesculapius as symbol. We say the Rod of Esculap.

  16. Aecio Flavio Perim says:

All right, Dan, Just in case you decide to visit Brazil, you have a place to stay. On second toughts, bring your pets. I am sure they will feel good here. In fact I have some pets birds around the house. I give them seeds and they make me happy. At your service
    Aecio

  17. Dan says:

    Hi guys.
Working the night shift this week.
Unfortunately for tonight I haven’t any podcast to listen to.
No problem! I am going to listen to the noises and sounds out from the piece of metal.
With earplugs as a protective precautions of course.
I had a couple of those custom made for my ears. Quite expensive.

    Bye :- )

  18. Tania says:

    Hi,
Today is the International Women’s Day 8 March .

International Women’s Day is celebrated on March 8 every year.
In my country it became simply an occasion for people to express their respect, appreciation and love
for women, and children for their mothers, giving them flowers and small gifts.
For children it is Mother’s Day.
At school, our little children learn poems and songs for mother.
It is very exciting to see a little child saying maybe his first song or poem to his/her mother.

  19. Tania says:

    Hi,
After 1977 the United Nations General Assembly invited member states to proclaim
March 8 as the UN Day for women’s rights and world peace.

I wish to all female blog friends all the best, health and peace in the world!

    Best wishes,

    Tania

  20. Tania says:

    Hi,

A special wish to Cuca, our dear blog friend for many years.

    Best wishes of health,

    Tania

  21. Tania says:

    Hi,
And a Mae West quote (English Cafe 541),

“You only live once, but if you do it right, once is enough.”

  22. Tania says:

    Hi,

You make us curious with Salvador Dali’s fascination with Mae West.

According to Wikipedia the Mae West Lips Sofa (1937) is a surrealist sofa by Salvador Dali.
The wood -and-satin sofa was shaped after the lips of actress Mae West.

As I have had no idea about Mae West and her sofa, thank you very much.

Just to remember, Salvador Dali (1904 – 1989) was a prominent Spanish surrealist painter.

  23. Tania says:

    Hi,

We have a similar saying with “to put (one’s ) shoulder to the wheel”.
We say, put your shoulder at work and help, too!

  24. Pete says:

I finally get a chance to watch the lates republican debates.
    Man
When is the high school taunts gonna be over and we start hearing what their political stace would be.

The hottest issue on the debate that literally took up a larg portion of the costly tv debate was whose candidate hands are normal size whose are standard.

You are republican’s candidates for crying out loud. act like one.

  25. emiliano says:

Reading all the blogs I have read yours Tania in which you mentioned my
dear Cuca, thank you so much for remembering her, the nicest woman
I have ever met along my life.
She is now really very sick and you may know how are my feelings about
her and all my completely life.
May be soon it would be impossible to have her close near me as doctors
told me she would be better in other place where she could have better
    treatments.

So again thank you Tania for remembering her, a real great woman,
worker, mother, and the best wife a man could dream.
