    Nice ,
We goona learn a thing or two about nutrition facts. I m talking about the break down of ingredients on the food lables.
I m health conscious and watching my weight. So , I always takes my time with the items I m buying at grocery stores.
I always check the nutrition facts on the package impartiality the sugar content.
I m telling you my biggest pet peeve is sugar. Sugar scares bejeezes out of me.
Even the tiniest amount of suger on food lables make my skin crawl.
I always stick to dietary products with close to none suger content.

    Holly ,

    Planet of Ape.
Man , I love the movie. I have seen the old version and the new versions of it.
I must say the second part which was on the big screen like two years ago or so is the best in the bunch.

It is a total guy flick movie
I have never heard any woman manage to sit the movie through.
You know , planet of ape for men is like “sex and the city” for women.

Man ,speaking of which , stupid that I am , I watched the latest movie of ” sex and the city ” on big screen. Let’s just say it wasn’t my finest moment.
Boy, the auditorium , I mean the screen room , was packed with women. I was the only man in the auditorium with a good 300 or so sit capacity.
And , my friends , all seat in the room were taken by women.
Man , it couldn’t be more humiliating !!! I sank deep in to my seat. Still I was like a sore thumb with a big pocket of popcorn and big drink and a box of raisin all on my lap. As you may know , women usually don’t go popcorn while watching movie. Mostly ,it is a man thing.
And , the worst of all , I was flanked by two women siting on both sides of me.
Man , I was looking straight for the entire 2 hour of the movie; my next was stiff for the two or three following days!! Still I felt eye rolling and finger pointing!!!
Or perhaps, It was just me being paranoid !!!
But , one thing I know , it was the worst movie experience ever.
The worst 13 dollrs I ever spent.
To this day , I couldn’t watch any version of sex and the city ever again.

    🙂

  3. Dan says:

    Hey guys.

Speaking of profanity, recently I have heard the most vulgar talk show ever.
It was an episode of the Howard Stern show.
I can’t even tell the title of it. Let’s just say the man is quite a character.

    Thanks.

  4. peter says:

    Hey Dan,

    I m intrigued !!!

  5. Dan says:

    Hey,
One of The great thing about food label thingy is that it enables colory count.
As u may know , colory count has become norm among people of many different places.
It helps people be in charge of the amount of colory they consime per day.thry totally put them in control of their eating habits.
they can take calculated steps towards balancing daily intake colory and activities.
It helps people maintain their ideal weight.
    It works for me beautifully

    ‘That is All Folks,” 🙂

  8. lili:) says:

Thank you my Dear English professors for another good lesson – ESL Podcast 1178 – Using Profanity.

I spent some time studying the word “profanity”, and then “profane”; and then decided to stop because it gave me a headache.

Anyway, I noticed the sounds for the two “my” in the dialogue “Dorothy: My house, my rules” are different. So I looked up the word “my” from the dictionary hoping to find an explanation of why Lucy pronounced the two “my” differently.

Unfortunately, I couldn’t find a satisfactory answer for that.

Perhaps I should simply remember to say it like Lucy and don’t ask why?!

Many thanks again my Dear English professors*

    Best Regards

    lili:)

    * Using “my” according “thefreedictionary”, “My (used in various forms of address): my lord; my dear Mrs. Adams.”

  9. Tania says:

    Hi,
I was watching the European Figure Skating Championship, Bratislava.
Dear Emiliano, congratulations for the great skater, Fernandez!
How are you and Cuca? Much, much health!

  10. Tania says:

    Hi,
Dear Mari Carmen, I like very much the novel Rebecca and the movie, too.
I know nothing about a cardigan “rebeca”.
Thank you. Tell us more about usually things.

    Best wishes,

  11. Tania says:

  12. Tania says:

    Hi,
Listening again to the video lesson “Cubicles Are For Squares” from Learn English Magazine…
I have remembered that we use a similar expression “having a square head”
with the meaning that he/she is not very smart, inflexible.
To learn easily the new words I think at the similar words from my language.

  13. Tania says:

    Hi,
Learn English Magazine, issue 14, the video lesson ” you are right on the money”…
Good idea to attach the portrait of the writers. Maybe many of us don’t know them.
At school, the portraits of all our great writers are on the wall. We can’t forget them all our life.

I would add some quotes related to money.

The abundance of money ruins youth.

The love of money and the love of learning rarely meet.

All things are obedient to money.

  14. Tania says:

    Hi,
Learn English Magazine No.5 , “Super Tuesday” article about the American election system…
I saw yesterday on TV how the Americans from the state of IOWA prepared the caucus.
They are very proud being the first caucus in the country.
I have started to understand better the American election system.
    Thank you.

  15. Aecio Flavio Perim says:

Something about English Cafe 540, I watched the planet of apes, with Charlton Heston in the 50’s. I was 10 or so, I remember a great amount of kids yelling inside the movie room. In fact, it was a great movie talking to the future, when, they say, apes will rule men. They can talk, they use guns, they have science, but they were evil, killers. At the end, they show a nuclear bomb, named alfa omega, whose power is to destroy the planet. Fortunately, it was a lie.
    Aecio

  16. peter says:

    Trump is out of picture
oof , it was a close call though

    America u r saved !!
    Thanks to IOWA

    🙂
