About Pod. 1160 – Being Reprimanded at Work

Judging from Peter’s stories, he knows the subject really well, don’t you Pete?

I can’t wait for Wednesday and Friday having new podcasts. I am longing for them.

  4. peter says:

Morning my part of world ,and hello to the rest of world,
It is early in the morning , as usual , I woke up to a bad dream in the middle of the night and couldn’t go back to sleep. Belive me , I tried to force back myself to sleep. But , I ended up just tossing and turning. So , I figured now that I was up I better make the best of it. So, I grabbed learning guid and started reading.
The culture note on the latest episode totally grabbed my attention. I find it cheerfully interesting.
    I read it three times.
Then , I thought I better share it with you and let you be the judge of it. Besides , it bears a very practical message that I thought you may find useful too.
So , with the permission of Lucy and Jeff I m going to share it with you. Again, I find it very appealing and practical. Hope, so you do.
Well , I m not copy and paste the piece here.
I m just rephrasing it in my wording so it is not goona do its justice. However I m pretty confident it will convey the message.

    Here it comes,
The culture note is about a phenomenon in The U.S. called “Vanity sizing ” which refers to the way in which the sizes of clothing gradually inccreased over time. Well , the interesting part about the culture note is that American clothing sizes , the sizes u see on the label of their clothing are not standardized. By that I mean the size numbers on the labels are not the true representative of the actual size. By that I mean they don’t match up with the actual measurement on the body.
For example , my size is large but surprisingly I repeatedly find myself fit perfectly in a size medium.
You know why because the sizes are not standardized, It gives manufacturer the freedom to put whatever size they like on cloths and get away with it. So, over time they started putting smaller sizes on the clothing.
    Why smaller sizes ?
    The piece argues:
Psychologically speaking , Subconsciously , once people realize that they fit comfortably into a smaller size that they think they are , they feel good about themselves. The trick increase the likelihood of people purchasing the item for the good feeling it projects.
    See , very interesting!!!
Stupid that I am , I got 5 shirts last week ,All happy dappy that I was fiting into a medium. :)))
See it works , I was fooled into buying 5 shirts instead of one.
Thanks God ,I wished up :)))
If Lucy had put the latest culture note on the last week culture note instead of this week , she would have saved me a pretty penny :))
    Perfect timing Lucy :))))))
Well , in my defence , they were on sale. The price on them was knocked down significantly. In actuality , I got 5 for the price of two.
Come on people , I m naive but not that naive.
Well, I fess up that the medium size printed on the label was the intrigue here not the cut-down prices 😉
But , let me tell you one thing , The colours of the shirt are are happy colors.

  9. Aecio Flavio Perim says:

I am eager for tomorrow with new podcast.

  10. peter says:

    Hey Dan,
    You said it ,chum.
Well , it is not a regular occurrence;)
But , it happenes more often than not :))
I m usually let off with oral warnings , or sometimes My boss pots me on weekend duty.
Let me tell you , Working on weekends is punishment enough.
U know , U are all cooped up at office while all your friends are out galavanting and colouring the town red. 🙂
U knows, in all fairness , let’s just say, I don’t always stick to the straight and narrow.

  11. peter says:

Today is ” movie day” in Trotonto.
    Why ?
Because the price of movie tickets is one third down. The regular ticket prices are 13 . Today prices is around 8 dollars.
Tuesday deal is a perpetual deal. By that I mean it has been on as far as I remember and it is not gonna end anytime soon.
Every Tuesday, I catch a movie after work.
I m watching “Creed ” today staring silver Stalone. I love his movies. Action pack yet funny. His movies are cheerful!!
    Very spirited !!!

Getting my ticket on line , I just realized I haven’t watched the last sequel of hunger game yet!!
I have watched all the sequels of the movie franchise.
Well , I didn’t know it is on the screen already.
My understanding was it was coming out one week from know.
The problem is there are a big line of good movies coming out in recent weeks that had my eye on them. So, sometime I confuse the release time on them.
I may end up watching two movies back to back tonight.
Well , I m not committing to it yet , as “hunger game” runtime is 2 hours and 12 minutes
And “Creed ” is 2 hours.
Besides I always get popcorn with movies. Well , I usually get combo which includes an upsized diet cock , extra large popcorn with extra butter sprinkle all over it and a bag of skittles.
    Don’t judge me , I m a big guy.
Small size popcorn doesn’t hit the spot.
U know , I always watch movies with popcorn so two combos for the night might don’t agree with my stomach.

  12. Aecio Flavio Perim says:

  13. Aecio Flavio Perim says:
