That’s what I was talking about. Popdcasts for the week. A boating accident, English Caré 522 and repairing an appliance. It seems to be very good. Awesome!
Aecio, from Brazil, where we all belong to.
Hello everyone!
How are you guys? I am good.
Here the thing, since we all -I believe- love podcasts, here’s a couple of podcasts for those interested:
First one is an interview to a British chemist and writer talking about poisons used by Agatha Christie in her novels.
For this one google: Science Friday + A is for arsenic: The poisons of Agatha Christie. Very interesting.
Second one is an interview/discussion with a cosmologist Max Tegmark with Sam Harris.
If you guys do not know Sam Harris blog, I highly recommend that. Very interesting stuff.
For this one google: Sam Harris blog, and you’ll find the episode I am writing about.
One last thing is that I saw on Utube the ending of castaway, the movie Jeff is talking about in the last Pod.
He said that he hates that ending. for that reason I searched for it.
The guy who posted the clip thinks differently from Jeff since the title says: One of the greatest scenes ever in a movie.
I cannot tell whether it is good or not. My rule is that when the music is too, let’s say dripping with honey, the scene is usually bad.
Thanks
Dan, have you noticed that just you and me have made comment? Why?
Aecio
Hey Aecio ,
U said it mate
I see ur point
There is a small group of Eslpod students taking part In the blog activity per week.
In fact , the number is limited to a bunch of us who make multiple comments for every blog post.
Well ,i think it is safe to say that it has led to a reduction in the number of blog posts we receive every week.
I don’t know if you notice it what , but It used to be two blog posts per week which ,in my book, was the ideal number. Now , it has been reduced to one due to ,I think ,lack of adequate participation on the blog discussion per week.
Well ,I for one learn a lot out of each blog post that our dear professors kindly compose for us to learn.
In fact ,the blog activity is one of the area of eslpod that I make point of not missing it.
The point I m trying to make here is that I hear you bro and I support the notion 100 percent.
We need more faces here people to go back up to the ideal number. It would benefit all of us.
Don’t be shy.
The more the merrier
Regards
Pete
Peter, my fear is that in a few months no one will be among us. That would be terrible, for me and for Jeff and Lucy. If I could I would bring them back again for I think everybody would be happier with more people sharing this space. I pray God help us.
Aecio
No worries Aecio
We will hold down the front 🙂
Pete
Jeff has to do something in our favor.
Aecio
Aecio ,
As a matter of fact , it is all up to us.
I mean Jeff has no control over the outcome.
I mean ,it is out of his control.
So do Lucy and Warren.
It is on us : students. Our dear peers need to play a more active role on the blog.
Dear peers ,
Please note the benefit of blog writing is threefold :
1) it helps us improve our reading skills.
2)it equips us with a sense of writing and smooth our rough adages in the area.
3) it provides us with extra words, expressions and most impotently sentence structures that our dear professors did not fit in on the regular eslpod episods.
I ,for one , need to see more of blog posts every week as it will feed me woth more topics and more materials to write about.
U know what I say: “you speak what you write , and you write what you say.”
So the more you wrote ,the better you speak.
And
The faster you write ,the faster you speak.
So ,my brothers and sisters in the English language persistent give our one and only blog the ammunition it needs.
I expect to see more of you in the blog post to come.
Be wistful
Pete
Peter, it is not all about speaking English well or not, it is all about having friends, to belong to a group of people, which is good for mind and body. Besides, it is free, no charge for cash, no taxes, no criticism. So, what about to come together and enjoy the time?
Aecio
Peter, have you seen podcast 1143 yet? Don’t miss it. Enjoy it instead. I think you’ll remember me.
