  1. jens says:

    hi everybody,

looking at the programm of the radiostation “Deutschlandfunk”, here in wonderful Germany.
There was a five minute speech about the american author: Flannery O´Connor, who died
fifty years ago (3. th August 1964) !

this inspire me too look up, if our favorite podcast mentioned her in a cafe ! How lucky I was
to find on english cafe 201 (2009), the topic “famous americans” : Flannery O´Connor !

what I found quite funny is that she trained a chicken, (when she was just six years old), to run
backwards ! so of that, a TV-Team visit her on the ranch, and give her some local fame !
    ——-

to mention further, is, that the radio station “Deutschlandfunk” , also made a story about
    esl-podcast, in 2009 !
By the way , I´am interested if the german guy Gerhard is still sendung 100 topic´s to esl, as
Jeff mentioned in the radio-story ?

Interesting is also that EMILLIANO was also there in the blog. His comments are still the same like
in the old days: intelligent, sensitive and very respectful !

Note: Lucy and Jeff were given some response in the blog – to that episode !!!

so, at the end of the day, we can say: esl-podcast and “Deutschlandfunk” are culturel highlights !!!

    have a nice day
    jens

    What does that mean ?

  2. emiliano says:

Jens, thank you so much for your words I really appreciate them
    absolutely.

Nice to remember that I have been in ESL Blog just since the begining
and on those time, when first Jeff and Lucy opened the blog and I
have first news about their intention of doing that I I was asking myself
what are I doing to post or to write?, in fact there was the first time
I was going to do such a thing as writing openly in the web where lot
of people could read what ever silly or stupid ideas I could have by
    them.
I was some how difficult to turn my mind to write that way, in fact I did
not know what to say beside my English writing was awful, you and every
one could see it reading the first blogs.

After that, little by little, I have ideas and took skilful enough to write
about nearly all subjects, some time too much ideed but it was a
really funny possibility of doing what I ever long for, just to write and
    in English, incredible.

Now you know I have my own blog, desembuches gatufo, thanks to
Lucy and Jeff idea of making ESL Blog and emiliano writing every one
of the subjects for years and years.

Again thank you Jens, to me it is very important to read an opinon
    like yours.

    emiliano

  3. Tania says:

    Hi!
I am here with you again.
    I was missing you.

  4. Tania says:

    Hi!
“It’s hard to believe that ESL Podcast started this day (July 22) nine years ago.”

We are waiting for the NINTH ANNIVERSARY VIDEO.

  5. Tania says:

    Hi!
I can’t understand or imagine the meaning , the symbol, of the new drawing from our blog.

  6. Marcos says:

    Hi everybody

Thanks for one more podcast and the opportunity to share experience. DUI is a severe problem in my country, a lot of people die every day and it’s very hard someone go to jail for that. The penalties don’t work, you can see people drinking and driving everywhere, every time, every day. When you go to street or walk on sidewalk in my country, be careful.

    Marcos

  7. Aécio Flávio Perim says:

A new week starting, new ideas about the topics Jeff put here. I always wait great things to learn with our teacher. I learned about DUI offense on last Sunday. It was overwhelming and stunning. Really good. I’m looking forward to English Café on Wednesday and ESL podcast on Friday. Thanks Jeff for everything you do for your students.
    Aecio

  8. Marcos says:

    Hi again

It’s Interesting the use that word ” anywhere” in this dialog, ” anywhere from 96 hours to a year ” ( podcast 1022 ) I guess ” anytime ” is the correct word to talk about time and ” anywhere ” to places. In my country I usually use ” anything / something between 96 … ” in this case.

    Marcos

  9. Parviz says:

    Hi emiliano
How would you like to celebrate your 1022th birthday?
    Ok,
At that point you would be saying to new bloggers:
“Once upon a time there was a beautiful girl named Tania,…, and you invent the rest of the story.
I was wondering what would you say about me? Will you mention me, still?

    Thank you,
    Parviz

  10. Aécio Flávio Perim says:

Marcos is right. In Brazil DUI is a big problem and it is no use the laws. Constantly we see drivers on DUI driving carelessly on the streets and killing people. I have seen that men are alike in every country. There’s no difference when we talk about men, they are all the same, since the ancient times and you can see that just reading the Bible. Remember the first murder? Two brothers did it just after God created man and woman, Adam and Eve. Whatever it is, the world grew up with the same characters. Well, Marcos, you are wise and a good seer. The best for you and the other guys of ESL podcast.
    Aecio

  11. Aécio Flávio Perim says:

Hello Tania. Where have you been?
