  1. emiliano says:

I would like to say something about a man that past away
    yesterday afternoon.

Today we have cremated his body and all his family
were with him for the last time.

He was 96 years old and he has a life full of every kind
    of experiences.

He was born in a very little village in Burgos. Spain.
He had a happy childhood going to the school till the
we was fourteen and he had to work to support his
    parents and younger sisters.

Being too young, 22 years old, he has to go to the civil war
    in Spain.
Survived to the horrible civil war after receiving some
injures when he was cooking the meals for
    the soldiers.
One of his eyes was seriously damaged and he
    nearly died on that ocassion.

He was married in 1939 when the war was over
and had three children, two girls and a boy, me,
he named me with the same name like him.

A very good husband, the best a woman may have, a wonderful
father, and always a nice and cheerful good person.
Every person that meets him was amazed with his
good humor and optimism, being a very old man
never complains or say anything bad about anybody.

One of the best persons and fathers
a boy and a man may have.

He was my lovely father, Emiliano,
and he is now resting in peace.

All my love to him and the love
of every person who knew him
    along his long long life.

I am sad but also quiet because he has been
a good man who has the best life a person
    may have.
Rest in peace dear Emiliano you´ll be always with me
and with all your dear family.

    Your son.

  2. Betty says:

    My Dear Emiliano and Family

I was very very sorry to read the above message which made me very very sad.

Although I have not known your father and your family personally, I could feel your father being a great man.

A great man finally finished his Journey of Life, a Very Worthwhile Journey.

I only started reading this blog from two days ago, it must be God’s idea that I would read this message.

    Please accept my deepest sympathy.

My thoughts are with you and your family.

    Yours Sincerely,

    Betty

  3. fayssal says:

Dear Emiliano, this is an obligatory end, life is transitory and death is certain, no one can avoid the destiny that god has set out for him. Anyway, accept my heartfelt and deepest sympathy and may Allah have mercy on him.
you have to be glad that your dead raised well and you have got to be his role model and then people we remember your dad through you.
and as you said,, he’s 96 years old and was ill, i guess sometimes death is a rest for some people rather than agonizing.

just brace yourself dear friend and you have to realize that this is the beast of nature….

  6. emiliano says:

Thank you my friends, now I have him in my mind all moment and I hope there is a good place for him now from where he can look after all his family.
Two feelings are together, I am sad but relieved that he has suffered really very little and now he is in peace.
Eva my daughter has came from Islas Canarias to be the last moment with her grandfather till the end.
Now she is with Cuca and me all day till tomorrow.
It was good for me yesterday to have the oportunity of writing a remembering of my dear father.
It was the only possible one I could, thanks to Jeff and Lucy and to this blog I could share his memory with all of you.
Thank you again to every one of you, I hope to write again very soon.
    emiliano.

  7. Dave Gardner says:

Great ideas with podcasts to learn…quick and easy and as all are now using newer technology such as ipods, mps3 etc. I actually teach in a school with many ESL kids from the Ukraine/Russia and this would be a good thing for them to listen to to supplement their work to improve.
