Just another morning, just another day, just another sunday, just another question but this is always the same:
¿What am I going to do along the full day?.

Here in Madrid it has been so hot that the body don´t want to go out if there is not a good reason to left home.
Some days we have been more than 47ºC under the sun, so it is impossible to walk, so what to do?

After five or six days without walking by the streets it is necessary and healthy for the legs and mind just to leave,
    where?.
Yesterday evening I was in the theatre watching a movie that it was not so good as I thought it could be.
At half past four I was inside the cinema watching it, may you imagine the hot outside?

When the movie was finshed I found myself in the Gran Via of madrid, half a million people could be going up and down the wide street, the noise was incredible, the people was from dozens different countries of the world it was like impossible to walk, so after a couple of hours watching this peculiar “girigay” of voices, women scarcely
covering their bodies, thousand of persons talking by the smartphones, fat very fat men and women too, girls sitting
on the stairs playing with their phones, and shouting to their friends.

Madrid´s streets seems a large boiling pot full of people shouting, walking without any sense so I went down the stairs of the subway, take it, and after half an hour I was at home, in the silence of the night enjoying that.
Gatufo was waiting for me, he always do the same with low “miaus” as I am managing the keys to open the door. First of all I care him, say him some words to calm the poor cat that has been alone.

To me it is a mystery how people could enjoy this, that big turmoil so noisy and thousands and thousand of people in the streets shouting walking aimlessly for hours till the point you can´t walk without touching or tripping each other.

It is sure, today I am going to be inside, doing what?. Now I don´t really know, first of all writhing here, after writing to my daughter, and in a little while speaking with my dear Cuca by the phone.
I have to wait for a better weather, less hot, to go and seeing her more frequently because July and August has been like hell here in Spain, but even now in September is happening the same.
Hot, hot, hot, I am fed up of summer.

    Regards.

    Hi,
Thank you for telling us about the military song “Taps” and its message.
Listening to the English Cafe 570 I have remembered that I knew the song.
For a period of time the song was the signal that it was the time to go to bed, the silence, and in my country.
Yesterday I saw on TV news the anniversary of the September 11 attacks on the U.S. on the morning
    of Tuesday, September 11, 2001 (9/11).
Silence… and the song “Taps”…honor to the men and women who died on 9/11.

  3. Tania says:

    Hi,
As I like the old songs, I know the famous cover version of the song “Taps” performed by Dalida.
It’s a very nice love song.

    “My love you go away
it’s so sad and you know that
    …………………………………….
this silence will speak to you of me.

    My love you go away
    but you’ll return again
    Good night my love
I’ll see you in my dreams.”

  4. Tania says:

    Hi,
Thank you for the explanation of the words “internship” and “externship”.
We use the same words “intern” and “extern” with the meaning depending on the context.

New to me the word “jinx”. Like a black cat, jinx is a person or thing that brings bad luck.

Instead of “report” we say “raport”.
