    Hi mates,
Last night , was a movie night for me.
    I saw the movie ” A man from U.N.C.L.”
    I didn’t hate the movie
I didn’t like it like it either
You can’t say It is abysmal ! It definitely scores higher.
It is a fresh look at the genre.
The director comes at it at a new ,different angle.
The direction the movie takes is not the cliche approach that has been done to death.the one you expect to see in spy movies.
It is very particular appealing to a particular taste.
I say the movie has a good prospect.
the plot ends with an open loose giving the director wings for a sequel ,off course, if the movie is a black buster.
The movie is very refreshing meant mostly for a dull Sunday.
No brain recking ; escapism one might say.
It is a spy movie that doesn’t afraid to crack the viewers up at the expense of character ‘s humiliation.

    I give it a half mast thumbs-up 🙂 ( coinage of mine)
The movie is very refreshing ,I will give it that.
It will cheer your Sunday up.

  2. Aecio Flavio Perim says:

As always, I am the first podcaster to write my comment here. As I have already said, I live in Brazil in which the schedule is 5 hours ahead LA, USA. The time here is 09:44 and your time there is probably 04:44. Thanks Jeff and Lucy for the lesson. I’ve just listened to ESL Podcast 1132 – Defending Your Ideas at Work and I liked it very much.
    Aecio

  3. Dan says:

    Hey Pete, Hi Aecio.

Just looked at the trailer. Looks decent movie from the trailer, but you know, trailers are always cool.

The main protagonist’s face would be good for a Superman movie.

    Bye.

  4. Aecio Flavio Perim says:

Hello, Dan and Peter. What are you talking about? Superman, movie. What is this? Please tell me, I am curious.
    Aecio, Brazil.

  5. Tania says:

    Hi,
Dear Emiliano, you don’t have to excuse. To dream is maybe the best thing that our brain can do it.
Having a dream, a pleasure, we can go on our life.
We have to see a spell in every thing we have.

I appreciate you very much, and I respect your opinions.

    Tania

  6. Tania says:

    Hi,
Admiring the mountain’s spell can be a way to forget the annoying things.
With one condition: to know the meaning of the word “spell”.

“To spell” means to write or name in their correct sequence the letters that form a word.
“Spell” means words supposed to have magic power, fascination.

  7. Tania says:

    Hi,
Mountain’s Spell is a Warren’s article written in Learn English Magazine.
I am fascinated by the mountain’s spell even though I had to look up the meaning of word “spell”.

  8. Tania says:

    Hi,
A good news: Serena Williams defeated the Romanian Simona Halep at 2015 WTA Cincinnati Final.
Still Simona Halep, the Romanian tennis player, is now world no. 2.
    I am very proud.

  9. Tania says:

    Hi,
A good Lucy’s puzzle: A convict with many convictions has strong convictions.
At first sight I was not able to translate it.
Reading Lucy’s explanation I have understood.
I was thinking about the political convicts, or those convicted from religious reasons.
Most of them don’t give up at their strong convictions even with the price of their freedom.

Thank you dear Learn English Magazine team.

  10. Tania says:

    Hi,
I read “Last Laugh” almost every day.
“We have too many cooks in the kitchen”.
It means that you can’t have more than one boss, one leader, in any project.

    We have a similar saying.
The child with three midwives remains with the navel uncut.

  11. Tania says:

    Hi,
I like very much “My Life in English” by Jeff.
    The Catcher in the Rye…
Holden’s sister asks what he wants to do with his life, and his only answer is to mention the lyric,
“If a body catch a body comin’ through the rye”.
He wants to be “the catcher in the rye”.
And you, you want to teach us English in a modern way. You are our catcher of our mistakes.

  12. Tania says:

    Hi,
I agree with you regarding the best test of a good book:
you can keep getting something new out of it each time you read it.
I have read some books for many times as I could see new things each time.

I feel the same reading and watching video lessons from Learn English Magazine.

  13. Mari Carmen says:

Wow Dan. It’s amazing how much time you have to read in this web and to entry posts. You also have a wide vocabulary as well as great “grammar” skills… creating a teaching website by yourself is worth a try!

  14. Dan says:

Hi there Mari Carmen, nice to virtually meet you.

Thank you for your kind words. Given your name my guess is you are from south America, is that right?
If that is wrong, I am curious, where are you from?

You are right, I have plenty of free time on my hands. That’s because I work shifts and I am single.
The only ones I have to attend to are my three cats. In fact, just this morning I had to take one to the vet.
He’s having some problem in the mouth region and his breath smells really bad. Like death.

Dear Mari, believe me, I am not in a position to teach anything to anyone.

    Thank you, bye.

  15. Mari Carmen says:

    Hello there, Dan

I come from Spain, but I am living abroad. I have a two-in-one name, which is María del Carmen. However, most of the people call me Maricarmen (though it is written separatedly) or Carmen.

Studying hard to prepare an English exam, I find this website very useful for my studies, for its friendly design and the variety and regularity of its contents.

As for your beloved cat, I see you are really worried, that is totally understandable, yet I hope that everything is going to be fine soon.

    Bye bye, thank you

  16. Aecio Flavio Perim says:

It was worth asking Jeff and Warren to fix the audio of English Café 517. I’ve just watched it and I have to say it was great, one of the best ever. Thanks again.
Aecio, from green and yellow Brazil, where there’s no sin.

  17. Tania says:

    Hi Carmen,

I am not as good as Dan at English, but I like very much our blog and all our friends blog.
Please write more and more often on our blog.
Read and Learn English Magazine. It is an amazing source of news.
We can read even The New York Times, news from The Economist, Newsmagazine…

    Best wishes,

    Tania

  18. Tania says:

    Hi Aecio,

I had the same problem with the audio of English Cafe 517 yesterday.
    Thank you.

  19. Mari Carmen says:

    Hello Tania!

Thank you for your advice, I’ll do.

    Bye for now

  20. Aecio Flavio Perim says:

Hi, Tania. It is a pleasure to help people I care about, like you and my peers here. I already have explained because I have the chance to see the podcasts before all of you. It is because I live in Brazil in which the schedule is 5 hours in advance related to LA. And I feel happy in helping my friends and enemies. Be my guest.
    Aecio

  21. emiliano says:

MISSING A PEN BUT GRATEFUL TO THE KEYBOARD

It seems like a contradiction but I like the keyboard either.

The keyboard has a soft contact too for me, once I rest
my fingers on it, every single finger to its right place I feel
something very special, sometimes it could be as a sensual
caress that make me feel happy.
Other times it could be like the power of seeing the letters
going fast on the screen thinking that in a short time later
these words would be out from home no body knows
on which other screen will be reproduced my own thoughts.

Close to me there is a person that says that my place in the
world is in front of a screen typing fast and searching by
    the web.
Doing that hours seems minutes and I feel happy so
may be this person has a sharp sight to see inside me
    better than me.

Sure it could be so and now it is my chance of saying, yes I like
the keyboard of my computer till the same level than
my lost pen or even more if I am sincere.
The keyboard gives me the option of sending this message
as far as never before I could imagine.
It is like a dream science fiction writers never thought before
and I like to read this kind of books being a your boy.

In fact every single person has the magical opportunity of
being in touch with the rest of our globe.
I could write tipping the softness of my computer thinking
a moment later my words would be out in the cyberspace
something I could never hoped before when I was writing on
    a paper being indoors.

Having in mind Laurha´s opinion I agree with her that there
is something in the way of typing that reflex my mood.
If I am right everything goes like silk, no mistakes, not missing
words and the mind is clear to write fast and in a short time.
Being just a little nerves or in bad mood I hit the keyboard
with my fingers and the wrong writing appears for sure.

    So long friends.

  22. Aecio Flavio Perim says:

The only thing I have to say now to my peers is good bye because it is now 19:06 in Brazil and I know that in a few minues the time is going to turn midnight and tomorrow is coming very soon. I will miss you all.
    Aecio
