    Hi everyone

I hear some interview with singers and actors at web and I have some difficulty understand depending where in US they are from, when they are from CA I have more easy understanding than others states, Katy Perry, a singer woman, who is from Santa Barbara, CA, is a example. But I understand it’s normal since in my country a film set up on north of my country run with a subtitle for viewers of others regions. You know, in our own language.

    Nice day to us

Hi Tania, Emiliano, Dan, Peter, and many many friends here,

I hope you are successful in your New Year plans.

Today is 13th January 2015. One twenty-eighth of year 2015 will be gone by the end of today.

Dan you are clever, you have found the district number (89) for toastmasters in Hong Kong. I joined it after reading Lucy mentioned this organisation in one of the Learning Guides. Thank you again, Lucy. It’s a great non-profit making educational organisation that has stood the test of time. It’s celebrating its 90th anniversary this year.

The reason why I joined this club was to improve my English speaking skills. It’s the cheapest way to do so. I wrote all the speeches myself and I gained a lot in terms of knowledge in writing speeches and confidence in speaking English (slowly).

The club can help people to improve their leadership skills as well. One way of achieving that is to help out within their own clubs and then gradually in the organisation. I don’t have the time and energy to do that. Another way of improving our leadership is by training our listening skills. A good leader has to be a good listener first. I am not good and probably will never be good enough at listening.

You asked if I attend the clubs in London or Hong Kong. I attended one meeting in England. They speak ‘real’ English and it’s very different from the English most Chinese people speak in Hong Kong.

Dan I don’t know whether the clubs in Italy are good. There might not be one near where you live, otherwise you can visit one of them to see how they do it in Italy.

Lucky I discovered this club a few years ago. I am getting too old to bother with working so hard. Soon I’ll have to call it a day and stop going in order to allocate time to something more important.

    Best Regards

    lili:)
