He good morning, today is Sunday, a very hot Sunday here in Madrid.
Swiming Pools are open and lot of families are goint to take a bath in the wáter, we have
not beach here, Madrid it is in the centre of Spain, just a pity, if we have sea this city could
be even much better what is nearly impossible….ja,ja, it is clear I was born in this City.
    —-
Now a talk about another old film.
    GILDA.
    —-

We have often spoken or thought which has been the movie that has liked MORE among the thousands or hundreds we have seen.
And even a reason to have a good conversation with our friends or family.
For movie lovers, among whom I count myself, I need to ask ourselves that this question is like mission impossible as we always remember dozens of them, to see, or come to think of a single film as the best for us, any of you could distinguish only one? ……. I certainly NO.
It is a pity not to organize a gathering in this blog (the gatufo´s blog) about CINEMA, if capitalized film, however much I believe someone suggested I would be a good idea to do a regular section where I talk about movies, TV shows, music, and as not, of books.

Well about books we could also ask the same question, that book ……? Impossible to name just one ….

Let’s start over again, ten, fifteen or twenty books we mention that we have liked more?. Difficult too, as with film or even higher.
Regarding books to anyone who enjoys reading “much to say and even more to say.” Depending on the age of the reader’s taste is changing, not just a book for a child, to a teenager to an adult.
And then there are the issues, fiction, essays, educational, gender, police, mystery, history , biographies, plays, poetry …..
There is more variation on topics you write about?, it’s difficult, I think not.

Regarding the film seems like almost all movies made ??in the years forty or fifty are masterpieces, and in my point of view nothing further from reality. As the same as with everything there are great, masterpieces that were pointing to a way of making films and other normal or just regular if not bad movies.
When I was a kid I liked all the movies, it was our way of evading the gray reality that existed in the postwar period. In winter it was much cheaper enter a local cinema continuous session and be hot pipes or eating a snack.

Then there was no television and comics, we bought cheap novels and film kiosks filled all our fantasies of kids and adolescents.
Trading cards, small prints that were published in sealed packets and which formed a collection to paste into an album, chromium, and form the story of a film, a book or even explanations about nature, science or any else of interest to the mind of a kid.

And today I issue retaking FILM, consider the slaps, punches, fights, swordsmen, fire, wars, arrows, we have seen in movies and depicting the history of man as being aggressive, tender, conqueror, warrior, predator, and all the thousands of facets of your personality.
There are a slap “historical” in the anthology film, like a streap tease in which almost nothing was not removed but suggests everything.
Nude Non-nude, erotic and sensual pure slap followed by tremendous and “macho” for these times at the time did not considered in those terms. It was another time and fortunately for women their rights have changed quite for good.

    Do memory please and think:

Eroticism, tension, streap-tease and sexy song with slap anthology that marked a generation and a style of filmmaking, ? ? ? ?
    Year 1946
    Hollywood
    Shawls Vidor Director
    Black Cinema drama, thriler
    Rita Hayworth
    Glenn Ford

    “GILDA”

(ranked 4th in Spain over 18 years qualms) … soon released, and everyone talked about it but had not seen.

    The argument is more less:

Johnny Farrell (Glenn Ford), an adventurer who lives of cheating in the game, stops in Buenos Aires. There it out of trouble Mundson Ballin, the owner of a luxury casino, just making it his confidant. One day Mundson introduces him to his wife Gilda. His surprise no limits: it was she who made ??him precisely what it is: a being cynical and bitter .
Gilda is Rita. A glove, a song and the slap dealt by the great Glenn Ford did the rest. Beyond its strictly artistic value, this passionate drama became an icon in the history of cinema. The forties lit much better films, but the symbolism and aesthetics of “Gilda” made it, even today, in an essential work.

For my part I can not agree more, it is a great movie or even a good script, but it is essential for anyone who wants to know a time, understand what was film and experience the erotic symbolism and aesthetics involved a gesture (removed a glove), insinuating voice, a look, ultimately the passion, desire, jealousy.
I could watched it several years after it was on the screen, just because a was a boy and I couldn´t go to the theatre to watch it at the time, but every body talked about
    Gilda and Rita Hayword.
By the way, it was not her real name, her name was Margarita Carmen Cansino, and she was the oldest child of two dancers. Her father, Eduardo Cansino, Sr., was from Castilleja de la Cuesta, a little town near Seville. Spain.
Her mother´s name was Volga Hayworth, an American of Irish-English descent.
So, Rita´s name was Margarita Carmen and the second name was taken from her mother, Cansino a spanish name wasn´t right for her to be a Holliwood Star.

GILDA, highly recommended for anyone who has not seen it or want to remember two great actors like Rita Hayworthk and the great Glenn Ford.
Rita´s father was a relative the writer Rafael Cansinos Assens , who discovered its origins Jews Sephardim, the old Jews who were expelled from
Spain towards the year 1492-94 by the Catholic monarchs, more or less to the date that it was discovered America by Cristóbal Colon.

So Great Mistake to expelled the Jews from Spain, afterward they called Spain, as their own land and even now they speak Spanish Shephardit and call Spain as Sepharat,
may be the name it is different.
In Spanish they are Sefarditas and call Spain “Sefarad”.

Enyoy the movie if you may found it.

  2. Dan says:

    Hello guys

I do not you guys, but I sort of becaming addicted to giving my personal opinion on everything.

It make me feel smarter/clever than what I am in reality. C’mon, Who dosen’t like to give out his/her thoughts about stuff? it’s fun!

I can’t wait to see what the next post looks like. Do you think I am going nuts? I like this game.

It seems to be working though, I feel like I am improving in here writing my nonsense.

Morover, there is the pleasure of reading from you guys spread all over the globe.

I mostly like the posts of Lucy, ’cause at the end she always is asking us questions.

Thank you! hope to be writing more and to read from much more countries.

    Bye!

  3. emiliano says:

He Dan, that´s really good, sharing thought is always a good exercise to improve your English and give some peace to the Spirit.

For instance, this morning after talking about swiming pools, and movies, I have pick up the phone and I have called Isabel and
Cesar to invite them the swiming pool that there is at home, yes incredible, there is a swiming pool in the comunity garden of
    this my house. HOME…..like E.T.
They have came inmediately and I have been with them above home, I could see my Windows from the swiming pool, and I had
my first bath of the year.

Ten longs going from side to side of the pool and about ten minutes swiming and playing inside the pool, the wáter was great and
the couple Cesar and Isabel have been with me.
Afterward we have going up the stairs and we have lunch the four together.
Cuca doesn´t like to go down to the garden on week ends, too many neighbors for her, and remains at home Reading.
She needs the wheel chair to go down or going out home, so some time she didn´t like to be out here.

A very nice morning talking with my two friends.
Cesar was born in Quito, Ecuador and Isabel in Lima, Peru. Our relationship now it is splendid, we are so good spending time
    together.
Isabel is the person who looks after Cuca and me now, so Emiliano is relaxed doing what he likes more….write, reading the
news paper by the web or some book.

By the way, next Saturday I will be in London for eight days, at last I could get some days of hollidays because Isabel is
coming to live home with my dear Cuca, so after fourteen years without traveling next saturday I´ll fly to London. England.

It is posible that after all I could not undertand English people as they use to speak English with other accent, funny. Now I
am accustomed to Jeff´s and Lucy´s voice. I´ll tell you in ten days more or less….after the 22nd of June.

    My best dear blogers.

Congratulations to people from Iran, but very sorry about people of Syria and some how with it was happening in Turkey.
We hope that this man ….the president of Turkey …are not going to do the same as other.

  4. Dan says:

    Hi Emiliano

I think I gonna look at it this evening.

I have seen many movies as well.
The problem is I can’t remember the titles.
Maybe I have seen it already.

    Thanks.

  5. Dan says:

    Emiliano,

Do not get mad at me, sorry to let you down, BUT I was watching that movie and at a point I Had to stop it.

I do not like the way they act, which to my eyes looks ridiculous. And Why they keep smoking like mad, and the way they hold the cigarette is irritating.
Really? it that what a sexy woman looks like? I do not find her sexy. That was probably sexy/hot at the time.

Sorry Emiliano, do you hate me?

  6. emiliano says:

No Dan, it is funny to think so. you make like it or not but only remember some points:

Do you have in mind the date when the film is made?. I think it is from 1947, women looks different
that year, nothing to do with the look of today, the same as smoking so much cigarretes in movies.
Every body smokes, it was sexy in a women and in men it was great.
Of course they smoke different from now, everything has been changing. That´s the good of watching
    old movies.
They teach us lot of thing about that years.
Different way of speaking, different garments, colours, habits, and so forth.
Don´t see the subject with your eyes of today, jump in the time and situated yourselve in those years.

Second war was finished two years before and people thoughts we absolutely different.
Nazis have gone to Argentina to look for a place to be hidden….and follows the story.

Change your mind, your eyes, and jump 66 years, that is the best of old films.

  7. sutisha says:

    Hi guys,

Emiliano, do you like ‘Charlie Chaplin?
I am old movie lover, and I have seen
    a lot of them.

    sutisha

  8. emiliano says:

    Sutisha, of course.
Chaplin is a genius, I like him absolutely.
In fact I have several movies of Chaplin and it is a fact that
never can´t be tired of seen them.

The list of the old master of Holliwood it is too long
but to mention some of them:

Orson Welles, Nicholas Ray, John Ford, Samuel Fuller, Fritz Lang,
Raoul Walsh, Otto Preminger, Billy Wilder, Michael Mann, Jules Dassin,
John Huston, Preston Sturges, Ernst Lubistch Joseph H. Lewis, Robert Aldrich,
Sam Peckinpah, Sidney Lumet,Howard Hawks, Alfred Hitchcock, Fred Zinemann,
Robert Wise, Michael Curtiz, Frank Capra, and so forth…
All of them are really so good, like the best artisans making real authentical
    Works of art.

But we could say the same about japanese, French, German,English, Italian
Spanish, or from South America, but even from the North of Europe like Igman Bergman
    and other.
Too much and too long to talk about.

My best dear Sutisha and enjoy with the old masters.

    emiliano
