Hi! I have found “Chicken Fat”, “The Youth Fitness Song” by Robert Preston on YouTube
with both different versions of this song : the “Disc Jockey Version” and the “School Version”.

    Touch down
    Every morning
    Ten times!
    Not just
    Now and then.
    Give that chicken fat
    Back to the chicken,
    And don’t be chicken again.
    No, don’t be chicken again.

Nice and useful song. You deserve our applause.

    Dear Jeff and Lucy ,
I just finished studying the learning guide done on the episod 864. I must say ,absolutely love it.
But ,the term I love best is on the lesson is,” Ivy League.”
A Fantastic term. Why don’t I surprise? By that I mean, I m not surprise at all. Because ,Lucy and Jeff always come up with these fantastic ,out of world terms.

Thanks Jeff and Lucy for the wonder -that is -Learning guid.

I gotta tell you , You guys are my role model. And,I m trying hard to model after you ,English wise.

    Yours,

    The Awe-inspired :)) ( clever ,hun?)

    Whose predictions?
-Mayan armageddon on December 21, 2012. For this idea, trusted archaeologists confirmed there were no Mayan foretelling about.
-Nostradamus’s prophecy was the great comet, Nibiru, would impact the Mediterranean on December 21, 2012.
-NASA, “The world will not end in 2012,” …. and it didn’t.
-International fortune tellers telling when the Doom Day will be … and even making a decision who is your soul mate or not.
    __________

Skeeter Davis / 1960s : Why does the sun go on shining
Why does the sea rush to shore
Don’t they know it’s the end of the world
Cause you don’t love me anymore ……
….. It ended when you said goodbye

Skeeter Davis’ s version has long been conveying what the heart-broken girls are experiencing.
Larna Del Rey’ s version, on the other hand, draws empathy and feeling to share the suffering.

    _________

I never ask why the sun is shining, but have doubts about why we do not try more to save and
do less harm to our world.

  6. Betty says:

Hi Everyone who are learning from this website

I am very sorry to have been absent for so long. I have been writing and not finishing my messages, and then the messages disappeared from my mind.

In fact, I need to have more energy.

Might be I should try some of the Energy Drinks that Warren talks about in his recent article.

Might be I should not, because if I have too much energy I will become unsettled and I may never sit down to write any messages.

    OK, back to “Prediction”.

I was in an outlet shop two days ago. An old woman was in the same shop trying to buy some discount woolly hats. She suddenly passed me a little paper with an address of a temple.

She asked me to go there, and she said they have regular meetings and lots of old people eating vegetarian meals together there.

I found it insulting that she approached me in that way, but I did not show my anger, of course, she was just trying to help.

I said, “No thanks, I do not belong to any temple and I do not want to”.

She said they would register my name with those in control of people’s posthumous life so that I would not have to go to hell. I could go to heaven.

She said: “Those who go to hell turn into animals like dogs, cats, pigs, cows, etc; those who go to heaven can enjoy an eternal life in heaven.

I told her that once a person dies, he or she return to nature. We human come from the nature and return to the nature. We should not think of an eternal life in heaven. We should simply live every one day as a worthwhile human being until the end of our lives. Work hard, don’t ask for anything and don’t expect anything, and that’s good enough.

People who deeply believe in God will laugh at me. “What a stupid woman”, they will say.

But I believe in peace, true inner peace, which I do not see in some religion at the moment.

Sorry if I have offended anyone here.

Oh, I mustn’t forget to thank all our teachers Jeff, Lucy and Warren for helping me learning and improving my English everyday. Knowing that I can manage and understand simple English gives me peace of mind – inner peace which I am seeking of. Thanks again.

    Best Wishes to you all

    Betty 🙂

  7. emiliano says:

A wise woman it is what you are Betty, thank you so much for your good thoughts, I am here at my desk having Cuca at my right side and I have
translate your words to her just because your words are her words frequently.
Despite Cuca belives in God her way of thinking or living it is just the same you have said and it is the way I try to live day after day, but some
times I can´t because I do ask me several things that usually don´t give us happyness.

No dear Betty, your are a clever person with clear thoughts and frequently I envy your nice real way of living, giving love ans sweetness to every one
here and in your own life in Hong Kong.

To me you are one of the most interesting persons in this site and in my life, the same than other that I could also mention.
Nearly I could say you are the one.

Nothing less than stupid, clever, smart, educated, nice, with good words to every one.
If I could I would travel to Hong Kong to meet you and your family and say Hi Betty, here it is emiliano in person than want to know you even
    better.

Be sure about yourself Betty, the nicer person in this Blog absolutely.
    With love.

    emiliano.

  8. Betty says:

Thank you very much indeed, emiliano, for all your kind words.

I am honored to have your translating my message to Cuca.

I am sorry I have declined to believe in God might be because like you I have met so much harsh realities in life. But I totally agree and understand why a lot of kind hearted people in this world believe in God. It is necessary for religion to continue to exist to help people to love and to live.

Only recently a friend of mine asked me why I always maintained a positive attitude. She asked was it because I had been a very fortunate person that I always look on the bright side of life; or, my positive attitude helps me to bring fortune to my life.

My answer to her was, learning English helped me maintain a positive attitude. God knows whether it was a correct answer.

Thank you again, emiliano, for a vivid picture of you and Cuca and your lives together.

I can see that Cuca is a very clever and caring lady who has married a very clever and caring husband.

When I was little I started writing in English to pen pals in the west like the US or some other countries which I forgot what countries. I used to receive pictures of all the pretty girls in their big and beautiful gardens. I wrote and wrote and wrote until one day they asked for a picture of mine.

I was very scared for them to find out I was not pretty and living like princesses like them.

Now reading your messages reminds me of all those pretty girls I used to write English letters to.

Where are they now? How do they look like now? Are they poor or rich? Hmm, I wonder.

I think I should go to bed now, it is midnight in Hong Kong.

Nice talking to you again, emiliano,

Best Wishes to you and Cuca

    Betty 🙂
